 The Airport Authority of India and Indian Air Force after holding deliberations have decided that the Jammu airport will remain available for flight operations but from 0600 hours to 1300 hours from March 10.
"During a meeting held between IAF and AAI (Member Operations and team), regarding Jammu airport closure, after detailed deliberations, it has been evolved that now the Jammu airport will be available for operations from 0600-1300 hours with last fight departure at 1250 hours during March 10 to April 19," an official here said.
The file slots are accordingly being revised for the ongoing W 208 S-21 season they said and added that during the S-21 season from April 20, the Jammu airport will be available for operations as per earlier normal watch hours.
From March 10, Jammu Airport is going to allow the movement of aircrafts from 0700 houts to 1300 hours only. Seventeen flights will arrive at the airport and the last aircraft to fly from Jammu airport will have to return by flying at 12.50 pm every afternoon.
The airport in Jammu division is also used by airforce with passenger planes and Indian Air Force had earlier proposed to keep the airport closed from March 5 to March 20 due to the necessary repair of the runway.
From March 10, the first flight will land at 7:00 am in the morning and this plane will be of Indigo Airlines that will fly from Delhi at 5.55 am.
At the same time, the last flight of Air India will arrive here from Srinagar at 12.10 pm and that plane will also leave from Jammu airport for Delhi at 12.45 pm.?
